The Sierras Al-Mijara and the Tejeda are just east of Malaga. Craggy limestone mountains seperate the coastal resorts from the interior. This is the Axarquia. Once feared as bandit territory but now famous for its sweet Muscatel wine, olive oil, avocado production and awe inspiring scenery.
Arguably the best walking
destination in Andalucia.
I organise walking holidays in the Axarquia region of Andalucia. In particular the Sierras Al- Mijara and Tejeda. The walks are guided by experienced local guides who have extensive knowledge of the area and its flora and fauna. We cater for all levels of experience, from the enthusiastic amateur to the experienced high mountain walker. You will find all you need to know about our holidays within this site via the navigation buttons on the left. However if you have any questions please email me.
